Texting. Is there a better way...for your body?

Let's talk texting. Most of us recognize it is difficult and often dangerous to text and attempt to do other things like drive and or walk. Laws have been past to help reduce the risks of this relentless temptation. So let's assume we are reserving our texts for when we are parked or standing still.

There is another issue though and that is posture. We might call it the "text tilt" where one's head hangs off the front of his or her chest. There are lots of habits that push or pull our heads out of place and texting might be the worst of them. A misaligned noggin has brought many a person to their knees with various pains in the neck, back, and other areas. This leads me to my suggestion.

Give this a try next time you text or challenge your kid to try this when you see them frozen in a partial fetal position as they enjoy some "social Interaction". It is simple. Not easy, but simple. Keep your head up nice and proud. Now raise the phone up in front of your face as though you are taking a picture of the horizon. Then text as you normally do. And here is the fun part your arms have a built in timer to keep you honest. When they begin to tire or burn then take a break and go do something else. Aside from everyone thinking you'r taking pictures or videos all the time, I feel like this is a win. Give it a go and challenge others to do the same and let me know how it what you think.
